We are so proud to announce that the seventh annual “Women In Technology” virtual event held earlier this month on Thursday, October 8th, was a success! Sponsored by Market Street Talent and Bad Ass & Bold, this event highlighted the importance of “Belonging In Technology”.
Due to the unprecedented circumstances of 2020, Women in Technology looked a bit different than years past. Though we were unable to meet in person, the event was adapted to take place virtually on innovative meeting platform, Remo. (A special thanks to the New Hampshire Tech Alliance for letting #WIT2020 take place on your event subscription!) This platform allowed attendees to see and interact with one another at “tables”, and seamlessly highlighted the event’s keynote speakers.
Speaking of keynote speakers, we would like to extend a huge thank you to Dr. Loretta L.C. Brady (Creator, Bad Ass & Bold, Professor, Saint Anselm College) and Jill McFarland (General Manager, Bottomline Technologies) for their presentations at #WIT2020. Loretta opened up the event with her address, “Real Resilience Requires Belonging”. Her words acknowledged the unique burdens and realities faced on women technologists, as well as their resiliency during these times. Jill’s keynote address, “Positioning Yourself as an Impact Hire” inspired words for change making, and adding value to any table at which women sit. Both presentations were followed by lively table discussions amongst attendees.
Last but not least, thank you to all who attended #WIT2020! We so are grateful for the WIT community that has grown for the past seven years, and for your continued support. We hope you will join us for #WIT2021 – and hopefully, in person!
