Amidst what our team has deemed the “new normal” for many working professionals across the globe, Market Street Talent wanted to offer some of our helpful hints for staying organized, focused, and positive regardless of your external working environment.
“Productivity is less about
what you do with your time, and more about
how you run your mind.” -Robin Sharma
Apps
Technology is a tool! Our fellow techies already know this. But, now more than ever, we’re reminded of how crucial our devices and technologies are in expanding our communicative and collaborative capabilities. Here are a few of our team’s favorite apps.
1. Calendly
Want an easy way to manage and organize your meetings? Calendly is a free appointment calendar that works with your Google, Outlook, Office 365 or iCloud calendar so you’re never double booked. This is an excellent tool for those who are regularly balancing phone calls or virtual meetings throughout the day.
2. Microsoft Teams
Microsoft Teams is an application our entire team relies on every day to stay connected. This popular app makes communication quick and easy, for more casual conversations or check-ins that arise throughout the day in an instant message format. It also has a built in call feature!
3. Zoom
Zoom is a video communication platform that our team particularly loves using for larger groups. Zoom allows groups to connect “face-to-face” regardless of where members are physically located. In addition to being able to host meetings, Zoom is a great tool for those looking to host webinars, digital conferences, or create a virtual classroom. Plus – it’s fun, free to download, and easy to use!
Words from the Team
Jennifer Gray, President: “Music is a key factor for me. Every morning, I choose a playlist or station to play throughout the house for the day. I try to keep the music upbeat and positive for motivation and sustained energy. An upside to this new practice is that I have found several new artists that I like!”
Jason Robichaud, Senior Technical Recruiter: “One thing that helps me is setting alarms on my iPhone. It’s the one thing I can count on to help me not miss things I need to remember. The ringer goes off with a task in it.”
Kelsey Kane, Technical Recruiting Manager: “In order to improve my focus, I avoid working in places like the living room that have a lot of tempting distractions. I’ve noticed that once I get into a flow, I feel like there are many more productive hours in a day!”
Kaitlyn Brown, Technical Recruiter: “Good old fashioned to-do lists get me through my day! They keep me organized, and I like to cross things off as the day goes on. It’s nice to see everything you’ve accomplished by the end of the day!”
Joe Languirand, Senior Technical Recruiter: “I make it a point to stand up and stretch or walk around the room every half hour. Keeps the blood moving.”
